On our way upto the Acropolis hill we will visit the Dionysus Theater,considered to be the world's first theatre.On the southwest side, we will see the stunning open-air theatre, Odeon of Herodes Atticus and the sanctuary of the healing god Asclepius. On the top of the hill we will visit the Propylea the monumental gateway that serves as the entrance to the Acropolis, the Temple of Nike dedicated to the goddess Athena, the Erechtheion Temple, and of course the Parthenon; the symbol of democracy and western civilizationand one of the world's greatest cultural monuments. Dating back to 5th century B.C, these monuments are testimonials of the glorious ancient Athens and the Golden Age of Pericles.
Meeting Point
The meeting point is outside Acropolis metro station 09:00am. Your tour guide will be standing next to the Metro sign on ground level, which is located on Makrigianni pedestrian walkway, holding a light blue Athenian Tours sign.
