Vera

Hello! My name is Vera. I have studied History and Archaeology at the University of Athens followed up by a Master’s degree  on Palaeolithic Archaeology & Human Evolution  in Leiden University of Netherlands. I am a licensed tourist guide and I love sharing my knowledge and passion for the history of Athens. Let's discover together the hidden jems of the city within a memorable journey back in time with lots of myths, secrets and stories.

Alexandra

My name is Alexandra (Alexia), Ι was born in Athens but my origin is from the island of Crete. History attracted me since I was child. So, I studied history and archaeology at the Kapodistrian University of Athens. Soon I realized that my dream was to learn as much as I could concerning the history, the archaeology and also the mythology of every corner of Greece. Some kind of “divine signs” the signs by which the gods would give their directives, led me to the right path and I became a licensed tourist guide. My moto is “as long as I live, so long I do learn”. Afterwards, I continued my studies because of my particular interest in the history of Macedonia and the Macedonians. I acquired a Master's degree in the Classical Archaeology and the Ancient History of Macedonia at the International Hellenic University of Thessaloniki and this was definitely a valuable experience in helping me broaden my horizons. My goal is to guide groups or individuals around areas of historical, archaeological and mythical interest and interpret the cultural and historical heritage in an inspiring as well as entertaining manner! I would be glad to guide you through any of our tours.

Tassos

I was born and raised in Athens. However, after finishing school I decided to study Economics in London, which was a great experience, but also made me realize once more that I am a very fun person and Economics are too serious for me. When I was studying in London I realize my passion to explore the city and not just pass my time there like a visitor. So, I decided to share my passion with others in my own hometown, Athens were I lived for all my life and I love with all my heart. This city still manages to amaze me since you will never get bored in Athens, which has such a rich and layered history spanning over 2500 years. For this reason the Capital really hooked me in and drove me to try to learn as much about the city as possible and to impart that knowledge to visitors. We travel to see and experience something different. If you're going to visit Athens, expect the people, food, customs, stores, and interactions to be different and unknown. I would like to be your guide to this new journey and show how to experience my city like a local. Of course the history and beauty of Acropolis demands a visit from anyone visiting Athens, but my favorite think to do in the city is to walk around the Capitals historic center and discover new places to eat or get a drink so I became an expert on that field.

Dimosthenis

I’m Dimos, a professional art photographer based in Athens for more than 40 years. I’m specialized in art, landscape, portrait and travel photography. I love my job as it combines Athens, people, taking pictures and of course walking. You could never get bored in Athens. To begin with, it’s a very old city with a recorded history of more than 3,000 years and you will actually sense that once you start exploring it. The local cuisine is one of the best in the world. The weather is good usually all year long. With more than 1,200 shows yearly (concerts, theater performances, movies, opera and dance) Athens is a very cultural capital. It is surrounded by mountains and sea and is built around a number of hills so you will have many leisure options. You could, for instance, go hiking in mount Parnitha, visit the Athenian Riviera and its attractions or enjoy the city’s 360o panoramic view from Lycabettus Hill. Together we will discover the hidden treasures and iconic landmarks of Athens in an easy 3 hour walk.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in History and Archaeology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Master’s degree in Museology and Cultural Management from the same university. At the same time, I am an authorized Tourist Guide by the Greek Ministry of Tourism and I work as a museum educator in one of Greece’s most acclaimed museums. As an avid traveller myself, I believe I know what a guest wishes to discover in a new travel destination. I always try to identify myself with the visitors and show them aspects of the city that I would like to view if I were in their position.
